On January 15, 2026, the open-source content management system Drupal will officially celebrate its 25th anniversary, a remarkable milestone in the fast-paced world of web technology.
Originally released in 2001 by Dries Buytaert as a humble message board for students, the project has evolved into a robust enterprise-grade framework that powers some of the world's most complex digital experiences.
One of the biggest strengths of Drupal is its community. That's why the Belgian community is coming together to celebrate the 25th birthday of Drupal in Mechelen, on January 20th for a birthday party / new years celebration.
