Hiring now: 2 Drupal experts + 1 Drupal savvy U/I designer

http://capacity4dev.eu is a project by the European Commission Directorate General EuropeAid aimed at changing the way we work in the field of development and cooperation both internally in the European Commission and with partner countries, other donors, academics and civil society representatives (and much more).

We host a rapidly growing community of 1000+ Development and Cooperation professionals, and quite a lot of daily traffic.

It is an ambitious and challenging project in many ways. First because of what we try to achieve, then because it is an OSS / Drupal project inside the European Commission.

We are now looking for a new web team with high flying Drupal / PHP developers and an innovative graphic / UI designer to take over capacity4dev.eu and work full time with us in Brussels. This is a highly complex implementation so excellent skills and experience are required to dive right in.

Ideally we would need 2 Drupal experts and a Drupal experienced U/I designer to come and work with us here in Brussels full time as the development servers are not accessible from outside the European Commission network. (If not every day at least some days a week)

This is a full time assignment (with some flexibility to allow you to cater to other eventual obligations)

The work will focus on improving usability, un-cluttering the platform, simplifying interfaces and usage, streamline workflows and processes, making its use intuitive and attractive/ fun as well. We will also implement new features for the community (chat, doc based collaboration etc)

There are possibilities for long term perspectives (eventually beyond 2010) as this platform grows into a core work tool for us and hopefully the development community

This is a project that has already a lot of visibility and will get much more as it becomes better over time …We plan to make all code available to all according to the principles of FLOSS once we are there.
