Dries in "Den Antwerpenaar"

The November 2010 issue of 'De Nieuwe Antwerpenaar', the City of Antwerp's official magazine, is featuring an article on Dries. The article talks about several Antwerp locals who are well known in their field of profession, but may be less known to the wider public in Antwerp.

'Webmaster' (sic) Dries is listed as among a world renowned nature photographer, the bass player of Epica (the symphonic metal band) and an award winning physicist. Even the world champion of Latte Art (art with coffee cream) gets his place in the article!

The part on Dries explains how he started out with computers, developing a programme for his father so he could keep track of his patients. The rest is well known Drupal history: he developed a message board to be able to communicate with his fellow students, and released it as open software in 2001. 10 years later, over 500.000 sites run on Drupal. The article has a highly original explanation for the name 'Drupal': appearantly it comes from 'dropping posts' on the internet :)
